Volume booster for Mac

SoundDial works as a volume booster for Mac by raising one quiet app above 100% while every other app stays where it is.

Some sources are simply recorded too quietly: an old lecture video, a podcast with a soft-spoken guest, a call where the other side sits far from the microphone. With the system volume already at maximum, there is nowhere left to go, and turning everything up makes the next notification painfully loud.

Boost one app, not the whole Mac

  • Boost up to 200% per app
  • Other apps keep their own level
  • Pull the slider back to 100% to return to normal

Every app slider in SoundDial runs from 0% to 200%. Anything above 100% is a boost for that app alone. Push the quiet browser video to 160% and leave music, chat and system sounds where they were.

SoundDial has no limiter: a boost raises the signal as it is, so loud parts of a boosted app can clip. Raise it in small steps and listen.

When a boost helps, and when it does not

A boost raises the level of the audio an app already sends. It helps when a source is quiet. It cannot add detail that is not in the recording, and very small speakers have a physical limit, so start low and raise the boost step by step. If a source is distorted before you boost it, a boost will make that more audible, not less.

Common things people boost

  • A lecture or tutorial video in Safari or Chrome that was recorded too quietly
  • A call app when the other person is hard to hear, while music stays low
  • A podcast or video player whose own volume is already at maximum

Protect your hearing: boosted audio on headphones can get loud quickly. Raise the slider in small steps.

FAQ

How loud can SoundDial make an app?

Each app's slider goes up to 200%. That is the maximum.

Does boosting one app make my notifications louder too?

No. The boost applies only to the app you raise. Every other app keeps its own setting.

Is the booster a separate purchase?

No. Boosting is part of the same slider you use to lower apps, included in the €14.99 one-time purchase.

SoundDial: a volume slider and mute button for every app.
